VU7LD expedition PDF Print E-mail
VU7LD Amateur Radio Society of India (ARSI) has been working on taking a serious group of Indian amateurs to work from the “second most wanted entity” Lakshadweep, for some years now and the latest application was made in February 2006. The WPC, after getting all required permissions from the various authorities like the Indian Navy, the Island Administration, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defence, gave formal permission to Amateur Radio Society of India (ARSI) to go to Lakshadweep during the whole of December 2006 like VU7LD.

DXpedition to Congo PDF Print E-mail
The well known German DXers Baldur, DJ6SI and Franz, DJ9ZG will be on a DXpedition to Congo in late November and early December.

Baldur will use the call sign TN6X on CW and Franz – TN0Z on SSB and RTTY . They will be active on 10 –160 meters with two stations.

QSL cards to their home call signs via bureau.
 
4U60UO - UNESCO PDF Print E-mail
Special event 4U60UO to mark UNESCO 60th anniversary celebration (Oct 27, 2006). Members of the Association of Radioamateurs of Paris (ARP) will operate pecial event station 4U60UO to mark the conclusion of the 60-week long 60th anniversary celebration of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The station will be on the air from UNESCO Headquarters in Paris Saturday and Sunday, November 4-5. 4U60UO will operate ll modes -- including CW, SSB, SSTV, PSK31, satellites and hamDRM -- and allbands from 1.8 MHz to 47 GHz (except for 6 meters). Chartered November 16, 945, UNESCO marked its 60th anniversary by selecting 60 themes to highlight the 60 weeks between September 5, 2005, and November 4, 2006. KM16 - Island Falkonera PDF Print E-mail
Between 15-19 November, a Greek radioamateur team will activate for firsttime in history the rock-island FALKONERA (grid locator KM16WU, IOTA: EU-113, MIA: MG-087) and also the lighthouse of island (ARLHS: GRE 012 , WLOTA: L0740, TWLHD-WLH: SV-029) by using the special call SX8F. This rock-island is ununhabited and protected area by NATURA-2000 treaty.

The pedition is mainly for HF-activity, but the team is also found with several VHF - UHF antennas, so it's a great possibility for a few QSOs on Satellites.

SWL's New Year Contest 2007 PDF Print E-mail
This contest, sponsored by the SWL-section of the VERON, is open to SWL-stations all over the world.

The date of this contest is Sunday 7 January 2007.

The aim of the contest is: Logging of three sequential hours somewhere between 00.00 and 24.00 UTC on both 80/40 or only on 80 or only 40 meterband.

Only three stations from each DXCC country count for the points. For the first station you may claim 5 points, the second station 3 points and for the third station 1 point. Thus the maximum score by every DXCC is 9 points.

Only stations in phone are permitted, no CW.

The log has to contain following items: Time (UTC or GMT), Band, Heard station, Working station, RS, Points.
